Regionals...Here I come...I guess

So I was really enjoying this retirement thing, until Lyle informed me that I was going to have to go to Regionals next week.  I was thinking maybe I'd get the year off, but he signed me up for a FEW races....

Here is the line-up for this year....

A total of 7 races, including trials and finals.  I have the Steeple, 5k, 10k, and 1500.  I really just wanted to grab a few 5ks and a 10k, but Dr. Weese said I needed to add the 1500 to get some speed practice in for the other races that weekend, and the Steeple would "just be some good training and such I guess" quoted Lyle.  So I am going to have to trade in my coffee cup and black dogs for a few pairs of training shoes and some spikes, I gotta run a few laps now.  As if the 37.5 laps and 9.5 miles worth of racing last weekend wasn't enough, I'll be adding 73 laps to the agenda for next week.  I guess so Lyle...

I wasn't too happy, so he said I should just blog about it.  Not sure this helped a whole lot Lyle...

Thursday...you know what color to wear

Starting Day 4 of the early retirement.  Still at the Lake.  But really, doing well!

I've got quite a bit on the docket for the next few days, I mean retirement stuff.  Earl and I are planning on sitting on the deck and talking about retirement stuff--ie) whatever retired people talk about.  Other then that, I need to make sure my shotgun is still shooting well, so I'll shoot some shells in that, the dogs need a swimming to chase some birds and I need to get a nap or two in.  I went to a retirement party last night for a friend here in the Flathead...she had been teaching for quite some time and I just don't think I'll be able to hang that long.  It is going to be a struggle to get myself out of this retirement thing to go back to school this fall.  Good thing I'm a athlete-student and we don't have to go to class if we don't want to, don't have to do work or take tests.  Really, we are just in it to win it.  And look fly at the same time.

I must admit, I'm not too motivated to write this morning as I spent the better part of 45 minutes in the hot tub and drank 2 massive cups of coffee in the process.  Hey, I'll catch you later.  Quick shout-out to my boy Lyle, WHERE MY DOGS AT?!?!?!

Early Retirement Hits

Hey Ya'll!!

Well, we are starting day 3 of retirement....I have to admit it, I'm really enjoying it.  I sat in the hot tub listening to Kenny Chesney for a half an hour this morning, drinking coffee and watching the lake rise.  We're getting there!

After chatting with Dr. Weese while I was crushing the Book this morning, he suggested I start a blog to out-due Sethoughts, which I would say has completely fallen off the edge since he started it.  What can you say, he started strong, then he fell off the face of the earth.  He is just too "European" for us out there...We'll have to have an intervention when he comes back to the States.  His blogging reminds me of the serving staff at the Indianapolis Olive Garden--man did the start out strong (mainly due to some help and support by others) but then they sure took a hit.  Sethoughts now reminds me of the Olive Garden in Sacramento CA...not good!

I'll keep you all in line with what I am doing these next few days as I continue to live life in early retirement.  I'm off to ride a bike down the road with a cup of coffee now!
